Instead of building deep personalities, they use simple traits people already recognize. One reason discussed in class may be that stereotypes save time and make stories easier to follow. In my opinion, this does not justify their use because stereotypes can spread false ideas and hurt how people see certain groups. Filmmakers should create more realistic and respectful characters instead.
