Prompt Response: Reflecting on my experiences with essay writing, the most challenging part for me is finding and using strong evidence to support my ideas. When I have a claim, I usually understand what I want to argue, but it can be difficult to choose the best quotes or examples that clearly prove my point. For example, when I write about a book we are reading in class, I sometimes struggle to pick a piece of evidence that directly supports my claim instead of just summarizing what happened in the story.

  Prompt Response:   My teacher once unexpectedly shared a story about her father dying from stage 4 cancer, and it really stayed with me. Hearing it made me feel deeply sad, not only because of the loss itself but because I could sense how much it must have hurt her. I remember wondering how she managed to carry that pain while still showing up for us with patience, strength, and encouragement every day. Her ability to keep moving forward and still support her students showed me what resilience and dedication truly look like. Summary:  Today in class we continued reading The Color Purple and answering questions on Writable. Reflection:  I got better reading comprehension and analysis skills.
