Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

Prompt Response: My video was about Letter 13 of the Color Purple, which introduces the abuse Celie faces at the hands of Mr. I tried to bring this story to life by focusing more on Celie's emotions and the atmosphere of their household. The song I chose encapsulated the sadness of the situation while also sounding ominous. I used the typewriter animation on the quotes I inputted to emulate Celie writing the letter.

Summary: Today in class we watched our videos for The Color Purple letters.

Reflection: I got a better grasp for how my classmates interpret the parts of the book we have read so far.

As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.

Blake uses the chimney sweepers to expose how society ignores suffering. Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?
