Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing.

Prompt Response: I remember watching the movie Grown Ups 1 and 2 and absolutely losing it. Seriously, I was laughing so hard that I almost couldn't breathe and definitely had tears streaming down my face at one point. It's one of those comedies that just completely broke me, and I couldn't stop giggling for hours afterward.

Summary: Today in class we completed and submitted our One Pagers on a poem comparison.

Reflection: I got better skills putting my ideas into a format with visuals that can fit on a single page.

  Prompt Response:  When we read the first five letters of The Color Purple in class, I was surprised by how honest and direct the writing was. The style felt powerful and intentional. Because it’s written in the voice of a 14-year-old girl, it feels very real and emotional. Even though the story is sad, I’m interested to see how it continues. Prompt: Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

  Prompt Response:  Watching my mom deal with the loss of her older family members was a difficult but necessary wake-up call that life is fragile and temporary. It forced me to finally face a fear I'd carried since childhood: that my time with my grandparents and older relatives is limited. Now, instead of avoiding that difficult truth, I use it to make sure I never take a single moment for granted when we are together. Summary:  Today in class we were introduced to the play Fences and began reading it. Reflection:   I got better skills reading out loud and understanding of play structure.
